Early to Mid-Career (E2MC) Neurosurgeons Committee

Co-Chairs: Stephanie Cheok, MD, and Christian Bowers, MD
Members: Raj Mukherjee, MD, PhD, and Randy D’Amico, MD

The Early Career Neurosurgeons Committee (ECNC) chaired by Dr. Stephanie Cheok and Dr. Christian Bowers welcomes the new year and we look forward to the 2024 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting. This year’s theme is What Matters, which promotes a diverse and introspective view, often an early step in progress. What Matters is an evolution in thought and can change and mature with a young neurosurgeon’s growth. It is what helped develop organized neurosurgery, which continues to provide support in both personal and career-oriented growth of medical students, residents, fellows and neurosurgeons in the initial steps of their career.

To assist in this transition, we aim to host multiple informal sessions throughout the year geared towards answering questions when entering the next step of your career. We are excited to share two events during the upcoming meeting. The first is a highly-anticipated and interactive reception honoring a leader in the field of brain tumors, Dr. William Curry, director of neurosurgical oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital. The second event is the Inaugural AANS/CNS Section on Tumors and EANS Tumor Board where senior and chief residents from institutions around the nation present interesting cases for discussion.

We will be at the 2024 AANS Annual Meeting in Chicago, supporting these sessions and more. We hope to see you there!
