It has been a busy year as we prepare to celebrate the Tumor Section’s 40^th anniversary at the upcoming AANS Annual Meeting in Chicago. Based on input from all 17 current and prior Section on Tumors chairs, a peer-reviewed publication entitled: “The AANS/CNS Section on Tumors: A Summary of 40 Years of Advocacy to Advance the Care of Patients with Brain and Spine Tumors” outlining the Tumor Section’s 40-year history was published in Journal of Neurosurgery (JNS) and is available at:

We will be presenting an overview of our history at the 2024 AANS Annual Meeting and will be hosting the 40^th Anniversary Gala on the evening of Sunday, May 5, 2024. The gala will be a business formal event celebrating the Section on Tumors and its Chairs over four decades with remarks from Dr. Mark Rosenblum (founding chair) and Dr. Isabelle Germano (current chair).
