The Awards Committee is happy to report that the Tumor Section offered 27 awards to high scoring abstracts submitted this year, more than any other section at the AANS and CNS meetings. While the pandemic limited our ability to physically come together at the AANS meeting this year, the Tumor Section was committed to honoring awards for the top scoring abstracts submitted to the AANS. In addition, the Tumor Section award winners have now been determined for the CNS annual meeting this year. The awardees reflect the high caliber and spectrum of basic science, translational, and clinical research pursued within the neurosurgical oncology field.
Additionally, the prestigious Ab Guha award will be recognized at this year’s CNS meeting. The Ab Guha award is jointly granted by the Tumor Section and the Society of Neuro-Oncology (SNO) and is awarded on alternating years at the CNS or SNO Annual Meeting after selection by voting members of the Tumor Section and SNO. We are thrilled to announce that Gelareh Zadeh, MD, PhD is the winner of the 2021 Ab Guha award.
We are hopeful to be able to meet again this October in Austin for the Tumor Section Satellite meeting and the CNS annual meeting. Please join us in congratulating this year’s Tumor Section Award winners for the AANS and CNS 2021 below.
