Society for Neuro-oncology of Sub-Saharan Africa (SNOSSA) 2021 Update

The Fourth Annual Meeting of the Society for Neuro-oncology of Sub-Saharan Africa (SNOSSA) was held, again, as in 2020, virtually, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The event was a success, with over 150 registrants representing 28 countries. The meeting, led by SNOSSA Conference Chairs Joyce Kambugu, MD, and Kristin Schroeder, MD, MPH, featured speakers from across Sub-Saharan Africa, including speakers from Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, and South Africa, amongst others. We also featured speakers from around the world, including Joint Tumor Section member Desmond Brown, MD, PhD. Buoyed by the success of the last two virtual meetings, SNOSSA intends to launch a First Thursdays webinar series, starting in September of 2021, with rotating talks from SNOSSA members from across the region. SNOSSA is hoping that in 2022, we will be able to proceed with the 5th annual SNOSSA conference, in person, in Accra, Ghana. Please contact Edjah Nduom at dreknduom@gmail.com if you would like more information on the 2021 conference or would like to support SNOSSA.

Physiotherapist Hussein Botchway presents virtually on the physical therapy needs for brain tumor patients in Sub-Saharan Africa.
