New Tumor Section Research Grants in Partnership with NREF and Nonprofit Organizations

The Tumor Section has forged new relationships with two nonprofit organizations that have now provided $250,000 in brain tumor research grant funding to NREF applicants since 2020. The Tumor Section in partnership with the brain tumor nonprofit organizations, StacheStrong and the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation (SBTF), provided research grant funding to three new NREF (total of $150,000) proposals in 2021 dedicated to cutting edge brain tumor research. StacheStrong is a 501(c)3 not for profit charity focused on raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research. SBTF is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for brain tumor patients and their families and to raise funds for brain tumor research so that a cure can be found. Both nonprofits have committed to funding high-scoring NREF brain tumor proposals on behalf of the Tumor Section moving forward.
