Journal of Neuro-Oncology

The Journal of Neuro-Oncology (JNO) is the official journal of the AANS and CNS Tumor Section. Several other prominent organizations also help to sponsor the journal. These include the Radiosurgery Society (RSS), the Indian Society of Neuro-Oncology (ISNO), Chinese Society of Neuro-Oncology, European Association of Neurological Societies (EANS), the Grupo Interdisciplinario Mexicano de Investigacion en Neuro-Oncologia (GIMINO), the Korean Neurological Society, Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS), Society of Neuro-Oncology Latin America (SNOLA), Pakistan Society of Neuro-Oncology (PASNO) and Taiwan Society for Neuro-Oncology (TSNO). It is published 15 times per year.

The latest impact factor for the JNO is 4.13 which represents an appreciable increase from the prior year. For the last three years, JNO’s impact factor has steadily increased. Last year, JNO also saw a 45% increase in submissions with many coming from the U.S., but also many from around the world. We saw an ~25% increase in article downloads.

Social Media following for JNO has also grown. We currently have:

Special thanks to Dr. Mehta and Shepard for their help with the JNO Social Media sites.  Also, Randy D’Amico has launched a very popular JNO weekly webinar featured on YouTube.

A special issue is currently in press and edited Dr. Aghi for the Tumor Section 35th Anniversary.  An issue by Dr. Rahman and Dr. Parney on immunotherapy for neuro-oncology.  A new recurrent glioblastoma guidelines issue is being led by Dr. Olson.  A new issue on focused ultrasound for neuro-oncology is being edited by Drs. Lim, Li, and Woodworth.

JNO will be part of a special session at the 2021 CNS Annual meeting which is focused on contemporary practice and trends in neurosurgical academic publishing.  We will be part of the forum with Neurosurgery and other leading neurosurgical specialty journals.

Thank you for the tremendous efforts provided by our outstanding reviewers, editorial board members, and associate editors.
