This year’s theme for the CNS is Imagine, Innovate, Inspire and serves as an opportunity to look to the future. The Education sub-committee is dedicated to providing educational materials throughout the career continuum. The Education Committee will be starting a webinar series this fall. The first theme will be related to finding a neurosurgical oncology fellowship and obtaining your first job. We hope these topics will be useful and inspire future neurosurgical oncologists. We also plan to start our innovation webinar series wherein we profile practitioners who are at the forefront of developing new clinical paradigms in neuro-oncology.
The Education sub-committee is also partnering with the CNS Nexus Initiative to expand the atlas of neurosurgical procedures. Along with surgical techniques, we will be tasked with profiling management of common complications. We will be engaging with neurosurgery residency programs to submit cases which will be vetted by the Tumor Section Executive Committee. In summary, our goal is to “enhance our field of practice,” aligning with Elad Levy’s, CNS president, recent quote. We aim to meet the educational needs of current and future neurosurgical oncologists.
