It’s an honor to be invited to take the reins as Co-Chairs of Global Neurosurgery for the AANS/CNS Section on Tumors Executive Committee and we thank Dr Germano for her leadership and for this fantastic opportunity. Our remit is broad and daunting – to identify areas of growth and collaboration in brain tumor practice and to build bridges across the globe to enhance education, training and patient care. There are advances in brain tumor care happening in every corner of the globe and in every resource setting. We are planning, over the next two years, a seminar in each continent to showcase, discuss and develop these advances and promote the translation of them into meaningful advances in brain tumor patient care. Many of you were at the Jerusalem meeting of the Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons in September at which the AANS, EANS and ACNS were guest societies – we hope to meet you there to discuss opportunities for the next two years. We would be delighted to hear from neurosurgeons across the globe, at any time, who would like to partner in an in-person or virtual meeting. We look forward to the pleasure of working with you over the next two years.

On July 20, 2022, for International Glioblastoma Awareness Day, we organized a global webinar to highlight the neurosurgical aspects for this complex and challenging disease. https://www.youtube.com/c/AANSCNSJointSectiononTumors

We are delighted to announce a seminar at the upcoming CLANC/FLANC meeting in Miami this November under the local conference president Jose Valerio, MD, MBA, MIBS, FAANS, FACS, who also is a member of the AANS/CNS Section on Tumors Executive Committee. The seminar will focus on “Modern Management of Intraventricular Tumors.” It is our plan to build on this topic at the next EANS meeting in 2023. Stay tuned for more in the Spring 2023 Newsletter.
