The Communications Committee is now chaired by Kimberly Hoang, MD and Claire Karekezi, MD, with significant help from member Maria Noor-Ul-Huda, MD. As Dr. Hoang hails from Emory University in Atlanta, Dr. Karekezi from the Rwanda Military Hospital in Rwanda and Dr. Noor-Ul-Huda from the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences in Pakistan, the committee truly embodies the 2022 CNS theme of “Neurosurgery Connected” – even across the globe! The committee continues its work of promoting the events, guidelines and publications of the Joint Section and amplifying the academic output of members. The group has highlighted the new Headlines series, which introduces Tumor EC members to the general public and each other both professionally and from a personal side. A special “thank you” to Dr. Huda for creating the flyers for this program. The group has also spotlighted events that members have participated in for World Glioblastoma Day and recent guideline publications. The committee regularly promotes important publications from a wide variety of journals, but particularly from the Journal of Neuro-Oncology (JNO) which regularly publishes many of the joint section’s guidelines.
