The membership committee has focused on a couple of areas over the past six months. First, we personally contacted all tumor section members that had not paid their 2022 membership dues. Many members responded to our reminder, and we have significantly improved our number of dues-paying members. That said, if you happen fall into this category, please take a little effort to pay those dues and be an up-to-date member of our section.

Our second task was to re-evaluate the process of adjudicating member survey requests. Each year a number of requests are sent to the Tumor Section leadership to ask to send surveys to our members. In order to prevent our members from being continuously inundated with frequent surveys, we decided to limit these surveys to only the most important and potentially beneficial for our section. We developed a system of equitable criteria to choose which surveys demonstrate the highest merit in this regard. Two surveys were sent out last year and two more will be released in a couple of months. Any input from section members would be appreciated.

We continue to explore ways to maximize Tumor Section member benefits and value. We are also thinking of ways to expand our membership to groups that have not been traditionally part of our group. We would appreciate member input on both of these goals.
