The Innovation & Technology subcommittee has been active in the initial process of curating content pertaining to the development and application of advancing in neurosurgical oncology. From Artificial Intelligence in predictive algorithms, to novel delivery techniques, such as blood-brain barrier disruption via focused-ultrasound, the subcommittee membership is well-positioned to provide the Tumor Section with an updated and comprehensive compendium of the “state-of-the-art”.
To this end, the Journal of Neuro-oncology has afforded the Tumor Section and Innovation & Technology subcommittee the opportunity to publish a Special Collection under the title, “Innovation and Technology in Neurosurgical Oncology”. Submissions will begin in fall 2023 with a planned publication in 2024, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of Tumor Section. We look forward to receiving contributions from our subcommittee members and Tumor Section members.
