WINS Medical Student Working Group

The WINS Medical Student Working Group was established in January 2022 to formalize pathways for leadership, mentorship and research opportunities, while also identifying ways in which medical students can help advance the mission of WINS. Alexandra (Sasha) White and Caren Stuebe presented an initial group structure at the WINS Executive Committee Meeting in April, which was received with enthusiasm and helpful criticism. The WINS Medical Student Working Group is overseen by several faculty and resident members, including Dr. Sarah Woodrow, Dr. Nicole Bentley, Dr. Ariana Barkley, Dr. Sheri Dewan, Dr. Alia Hdeib, Dr. Nina Yoh, PGY-4 and Dr. Cylaina Bird, PGY-1. The group includes medical students from across the United States. The primary initiatives this year include outreach, social media engagement and facilitating mentorship. Next steps are recruiting medical students to leadership roles and presenting an update at the CNS Annual meeting in October. Stay tuned for updates in the newsletter and on social media. Email the group at WINSmedicalstudents@gmail.com if you want to connect or have any questions.
