The AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, happening from April 29th to May 2nd, 2022 in Philadelphia, PA marks the return of the conference to in-person and features an exciting program of expert and inspiring authorities in the worlds of music, journalism, art and science. Utilizing a new 4-day weekend format to minimize the time away from practice, the Tumor Section Scientific Sessions, scheduled for April 30th and May 1st from 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM have been organized to deliver a diverse agenda of cutting edge techniques, scientific updates, and expert discussion surrounding the treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors.
Beginning on Saturday afternoon, the Scientific Session will focus on new technologies currently being incorporated into surgical neuro-oncology practices including, discussions on artificial intelligence and augmented reality in neuro-oncology, and updates in brain mapping, drug delivery, functional imaging, fluorescence guided neurosurgical procedures and intraoperative radiation therapies. The day will close with panel discussions addressing controversies in the management of craniopharyngiomas.
On Sunday, the Scientific Session will hold a case-based discussion addressing complex issues in spinal oncology and will incorporate interactive polling and audience questions to further enhance the experience. There will be also be excellent discussions on the treatment of High-grade gliomas, brain metastases and pituitary adenomas. The day will conclude with an interactive panel discussion on the treatment of suprasellar meningiomas.
