The WINS Outreach Committee is excited to announce the launch of a new mentorship program for female residents, fellows, and medical students interested in pursuing neurosurgery. The program will consist of two mentoring groups: one with faculty members mentoring a small group of residents/fellows, and one with residents/fellows mentoring a small group of medical students. Once these groups are established, WINS will send out monthly discussion topics (grant writing, personal statement development, navigating the job search, etc.) to facilitate mentor-mentee interactions. We hope this program will be beneficial to all involved and will help increase female recruitment, retention, and advancement in the field of neurosurgery.
We are currently looking to recruit the following:
- Residents/fellows interested in mentoring a small group of medical students
- Residents/fellows interested in receiving mentorship from select faculty
- Medical students interested in receiving mentorship
