Cerebrovascular (CV):<\/strong> The CV section has been active with the CAST accreditation process for cerebrovascular fellowships, now moving forward with the support of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons, American Board of Radiology and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

History:<\/strong> The History Section is welcoming young neurosurgeons to get involved in the section by sending new ideas, helping with the annual history video and planning the next meeting.

Pain:<\/strong> The Pain Section continues to offer the Oakley Fellowship, which supports a two-three month traveling experience to learn neurosurgical pain techniques and\/or refine their use. Eligible applicants are residents PGY4 or later or neurosurgeons within two years of finishing residency.

Pediatrics:<\/strong> Information regarding research awards for fellows and early career faculty members can be found on the section\u2019s website.

Spine and Peripheral Nerve:<\/strong> The Spine Section will host its annual Spine Summit March 5-8, 2020, in Las Vegas. The meeting will continue to utilize the fast-abstract concept.

Stereotactic and Functional:<\/strong> The ASSFN is forming a young neurosurgeons subcommittee within the section and looking for interested members. They are looking for young neurosurgeon (and medical student) input in regards to the ASSFN newsletter, including writing articles.

Neurotrauma:<\/strong> The section continues to offer the Codman Resident Neurotrauma Research Award. The section is working with the National Neurotrauma Society on NIH grants aimed at preventing pediatric head trauma. The International Neurotrauma Symposium will be held March 29-April 2, 2020, in Melbourne, Australia.

Tumor:<\/strong> The Young Neurosurgeon Reception at the 2019 CNS Annual Meeting went extremely well, with honored guest Mark Rosenblum, MD, FAANS(L), founding member and first chair of the AANS\/CNS Tumor Section. Information regarding all of the upcoming meetings and funding sources for research grants and fellowships, including the Andrew Parsa fellowship, is posted on the website.

Women in Neurosurgery (WINS):<\/strong> The Shelly D. Timmons Honor Your Mentor Fund has recently been established to support leadership development for all young neurosurgeons.
