The meeting was a tremendous success and was one of the largest symposiums to date.\u00a0 Congrats to the 2021 meeting chairs Dr. Michael Vogelbaum and Dr. Ian\u00a0Dunn\u00a0as well as Section Chair Dr. Jason Sheehan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our keynote speaker Dr. Jos\u00e9 del R. Mill\u00e1n, Past-President BCI Society gave a motivational speech on the future of brain computer interface in our field with hope of a new methods to improve neuroplasticity and neurological recovery after surgery.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting highlighted some of the critical areas of research and technological advances in neurosurgical neuro-oncology, including tumor microenvironment and spinal oncology. We also focused on neurosurgeons as clinical scientists and managing recurrence in neuro-oncology.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Anniversary Gala highlighted the well-deserved Tumor Section\u2019s Career Awardees including:<\/p>\n<p>The Mark Rosenblum Distinguished Service Award \u2013 Dr. Mitchel Berger<\/p>\n<p>The Charles B. Wilson Award \u2013 Dr. Alfredo Qui\u00f1ones-Hinojosa<\/p>\n<p>The Andrew T. Parsa Mentorship Award \u2013 Dr. L. Dade Lundsford<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The symposium closed with a full afternoon, dedicated to honoring the impressive and impactful career of Edward R.
