The 2021 Virtual symposium on February 13, 2021, was a great success, with 609 participants.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The best abstracts were presented, and they are still available online as recorded talks along with the electronic posters until the NASBS 31st<\/sup> Annual Meeting taking place February 2022. In addition, the selected abstracts were published in the February special edition of the Journal of Neurological Surgery Part B: Skull Base<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) will hold its 31st Annual Meeting on February 18-20, 2022, at Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona. The scientific program committee has developed an outstanding program, and we are excited to bring \u201cJeopardy\u201d back to the event. <\/em>Special sessions will include expert debates, hot topics, and video sessions. The NASBS meeting also features Dueling Dissections with experts demonstrating open and endoscopic surgical approaches through cadaveric dissection. Faculty for this program will also present 3D anatomy followed by pertinent diagnostic imaging of the area. We will have our pre-meeting hands-on two-day dissection course on Feb 16th<\/sup>-17th, <\/sup>2022. The hands-on dissection course will offer didactics and cadaveric dissection with modules taking participants through open and endoscopic approaches to the skull base. This course is led by leaders in skull base surgery and is designed to promote anatomical understanding and practice of complex approaches to the skull base. There will be a one-day Skull Base Reconstruction Symposium that will cover all the nuances related to the challenge of reconstruction, from minor spontaneous defects to large skull base approaches. <\/em>We will also have a global skull base surgery symposium designed to include the participation of the international skull base masters. Due to the pandemic, NASBS is evaluating the possibility of having the Global Skull Base symposium as a hybrid (virtual and in-person). We are also including a \u201cSkull Base Art\u201d activity, where the participants will have the opportunity to color 3D printed skull bases expressing the artistic skills present in all of us. At this point, we are planning on an entirely in-person meeting with numerous exhibit booths from industry partners. Information for all the above can be found at www.nasbs.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
