Linda Liau, MD, PhD, MBA, FAANS, delivered an inspiring and memorable Ronald L. Bittner Lecture on the trajectory of her career in bringing advances in immunotherapy from the bench to the OR. The scientific sessions were focused on areas of controversy in brain tumor surgery. Drs. Dunn, Brastianos, McDermott, Morcos and Couldwell headlined a session on the practice of precision medicine in meningioma patients. Drs. Cahill, Watts, Berger and Hadjipanayis spoke on how they thread the needle to provide maximal safe resection of complex gliomas. The program was anchored by 406 abstract submissions related to the care of brain tumor patients and the 37 top submissions were presented in an oral format.
