She is the vice-chair of Neurosurgery and director of Neurotrauma at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston. In addition to leading our section as chair, she also holds an appointment as sssociate professor of neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0262c;\"><strong><u>Chairperson-Elect: Dr. Paul Arnold<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Paul Arnold is a professor of neurosurgery at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, as well as the chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Carle Neuroscience Institute. He is a leader in spine trauma in both the clinical and research arenas.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0262c;\"><strong><u>Secretary: Dr. Ryan Kitagawa<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ryan Kitagawa is an associate professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. His clinical and research interests are focused on adult traumatic brain injury. His passion extends beyond the ICU and OR as you will often find him leading educational opportunities for residents and junior faculty.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0262c;\"><strong><u>Treasurer: Dr. Sarah Woodrow<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Woodrow MD, FAANS, is the chair of neuroscience and director of spinal neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. In addition to her research and clinical interest in spine and trauma, she is active in global neurosurgery as a board member of the Foundation for International Education of Neurological Surgeons (FIENS) and recently received much deserved recognition for her work toward building neurosurgical capacity in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #c0262c;\"><strong><u>Past Chairperson: Dr. P.B. Raksin <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Raksin is the neurosurgery lead at Cook County Hospital and an associate professor of neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
