{"id":280,"date":"2024-03-27T19:48:50","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T19:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsletters.aans.org\/neurotrauma\/?page_id=280"},"modified":"2024-03-27T19:48:50","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T19:48:50","slug":"aans-neurotrauma-offerings","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/newsletters.aans.org\/neurotrauma\/spring-2024\/aans-neurotrauma-offerings\/","title":{"rendered":"AANS Neurotrauma Offerings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-132\" src=\"https:\/\/newsletters.aans.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2022\/09\/Morrison-headshot-150x150.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By: John Morrison, MD, FAANS<\/p>\n<p>This year at the 2024 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting, May 3-6, in Chicago, there will be two trauma sessions.\u00a0 We will be hearing from two Natus Award winners for best papers in neurocritical care and neurotrauma discussing hyperosmolar therapy for acute spinal cord injury and paeoniflorin regulates ferroptosis after traumatic brain injury.\u00a0 We also will have four named lectures, including by\u00a0 Julian Bailes, MD, FAANS, and Patti Raksin, MD, FAANS, former and current Joint trauma section chairperson, respectively.\u00a0 The first session will address gun violence in Chicago, and the USA at large, particularly timely given the current climate, as well as the recent position paper by the AANS.\u00a0The Charles Tator Spinal Cord Injury Resident Research Award winner will discuss use of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Derived Exosome to Alleviate Spinal Cord Injury.\u00a0 We also will feature the Young Neurosurgeon Research\/Next Best Abstracts from Shikha Singh, David Zarrin, Yutaka Morishima and John Yue, MD.
