An Evening at the San Diego Zoo

The first ever Young Neurosurgeons Evening at the San Diego Zoo was an incredible success. Organized by AANS Past President Shelly Timmons, MD, PhD, FAANS, the evening was designed for young neurosurgeons and their entire family. In addition to a buffet dinner, families were able to tour the Elephant Odyssey area of the world-renowned San Diego Zoo and listen to zoo keeper presentations on exotic animals.

Medical Students Pass First YNC-backed Resolution with CSNS

Congratulations to our medical student duo of Samuel Tomlinson and Robert Gramer for passing the first Young Neurosurgeons Committee-backed resolution in the CSNS. Following the approval, Samuel and Robert will lead a team within the CSNS to assess the effect of the home residency program on success within the neurosurgery match. The goal of this endeavor is to establish a YNC-backed mentorship program for medical students lacking a home neurosurgery program.
