Secretary’s Message

Welcome to the Winter 2019 Young Neurosurgeon’s Committee newsletter! In this issue, we highlight YNC news from the recent 2018 CNS meeting in Houston and provide updates on issues important to young neurosurgeons. We are excited to publish articles pertinent to early career neurosurgeons, residents and medical students pursuing a career in neurosurgery. Highlights from this issue include an article summarizing the academic leadership metrics of YNC members after they leave the committee, an early experience with the new ABNS POST oral boards case entry system and much more! Brown University’s AANS Medical Student Chapter is highlighted for their work organizing a Neurosurgery Research Forum for medical students from around the country. We continue our series of CSNS updates regarding issues relevant to young neurosurgeons from the fall 2018 CSNS meeting in Houston, a summary of the neurosurgery Political Action Committee (PAC) as well as Section updates from the CNS meeting. Please give us feedback on anything you would like to see in the newsletter or submit article ideas via email to jjohnson.neuro@gmail.com or Twitter direct message @youngneuros.
