Next year brings an exciting time for WINS and the WINS community. Celebrating 30 years since the establishment of the WINS section, there will be events planned throughout the year to celebrate the history of the section and its achievements. Some of the events planned for the spring 2020 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston are as follows:
- Muraszko Timmons Symposium: Neurosurgery Trailblazers – A daylong symposium at the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting April 26, 2020, Boston.
- The symposium aims to launch the celebration of the 30th anniversary of WINS, enhance the synergistic goals between the AANS and WINS, support the NREF through Honor Your Mentor Fund contributions, pay tribute to two neurosurgeons who have made lifelong and significant contributions to neurosurgery and augment international participation in the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting. A celebration gala dinner and auction will be held the evening prior.
- The pre-meeting event features internationally renowned speakers in the areas of leadership, pediatric neurosurgery, trauma and emergency neurosurgery.
Join us in Boston to celebrate the contributions of two trailblazers in the WINS community: Karin M. Muraszko, MD, FAANS, and Shelly D. Timmons, MD, PhD, FAANS, FACS.
